Another pregnancy, another attempt at a journal

Well, here we are again. Prego! Very excited/nervous! 2 kids... Are we crazy?! The answer is yes. Due 11/9/2015. With Violet, I was able to easily turn my blog posts into a very cute little photo book/journal, so I am going to attempt to do this for this child. Just trying to keep it fair I guess. I am a little bit busier this time around. The whole residency thing puts a bit of a damper on my blogging life, but, here goes nothing.

I am feeling great so far. Tired most days, but that's really not too out of the norm for me considering I spend my days working a VERY full time job catching babies and then come home to chase one around the house (I guess she's more of a toddler now). I had a little bit of nausea from 6-8w, but since then have been feeling much better. And news with this pregnancy, WE ARENT FINDING OUT THE GENDER! These are always my favorite deliveries, and its what Scott wanted to do, so I figured, why not?! Scott thinks I won't be able to do it, considering I have daily access to an ultrasound, but I have been doing really good! And it seems to just be getting easier with time. Then again, I'm only 16.5 weeks so I've got some time left. Bringing back the questions because I found this much easier to help me blog last time...

How I'm feeling:  tired, but very good. I think I may be getting a little energy back, maybe
Fetal movement: little flutters, very irregularly
Weight gain so far: 5lbs
Wearing my weddings rings: yes
What I'm most excited for today: Watching Vi play with a little brother or sister. She adores babies
What I'm most afraid of today: the chaos of 2 kids
Cravings: anything sweet
Stretchmarks: no
Anything make you sick: no
Miss anything: per usual, a nice glass of wine

And now, bump photos. I thought it would be kinda fun to see the comparison of the two pregnancies. The ones on the right are this pregnancy.

And now for life. Violet is doing awesome. She's my sassy little lady and while 2 has been a tough age, man, it can be fun too. The amount of words and sentences and funny little phrases have me laughing nearly all the time (when I'm not pulling my hair out from the tantrums). We attempted potty training last weekend and quickly deserted it. She's not ready and I don't have time, so, we aren't forcing it. She has until Nov. to get it figured out :).

Scott is doing well at Target. He is now just patiently awaiting to get his own store (be a store manager), but in the meantime, he's happy and a very busy guy keeping the 2 ladies in his life happy. (which he does a great job at - best husband and dad for sure).

I am about to enter my 3rd year of residency. HALF WAY DONE!!! Yay! I have many hard/long days, but I also am at a great program, surrounded by the best docs/residents/ nurses, so I really can't complain.

Now for life photos...

Holidays 2014

I am just not a good blogger anymore. I have all of the best intentions, I swear I do, but life if just so busy. Most days I dont' have a second to myself, so its nearly impossible to ignore my family and blog (since I'm hardly home anyways).
Second year of residency is no joke. Our hardest year for sure. I have been on for almost 2 weeks straight and I cannot wait for a weekend off. I have delivered about 300 babies in residency already (~100c-sections and ~200 vaginal deliveries). I am learning a ton, but I am also exhausted most days. If you're like, wow, she's superwoman being in residency and being a mom - well, you're wrong. Most days, I am barely getting by and I am so thankful that my husband hasn't left me and my daughter doesn't hate me. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, so I just keep working (literally) towards it. Scott and I both look forward to the days when we will be settled back in Oregon, and life will be easy (don't burst my bubble on this one folks).
Scott is also very very busy with Target during this season. He is excelling as always and is just the best dad around - and did I mention best hubby too?! We are taking a vacay in March with my sister and her hubby (no kids) and we are really looking forward to it. Parents gotta have fun alone time too!!
Violet is ginormous. She is talking up a storm. She literally tries to say everything we say now (if you know me and my sometimes sailor mouth, this can be a little frightening). She knows her ABCs (although it sounds awkard...) and she can count to ten (again, awkwardly). She loves to sing and dance. She insists on wearing skirts all the time now (much like I did when I was a girl). She is an extremely picky eater (much like I was). She's even a little interested in potty training- although lets be real, I don't have time to potty train right now! She can be a little sassy here and there, but she's a sweet girl. She sleeps in until 830-9 most every day (much like I did - are you sensing a theme here? She may look nothing like me, but does seem to have some of my characteristics!). This is just such a fun age. I think she's brilliant, but I'm fully aware that every parent thinks this - in this situation, I'm right. ;).
Denver has been great. You just CANNOT beat the weather here. Snow flurries one day and 70s the next day. Always sunny and always fun things to do. Scott and I even bought some ski passes this year (yay for daycare at resorts). So while I do work nearly all the time, we do get to play here and there.
Now for pictures of the playtime!

How is summer almost over?!?

Life is so so busy, as usual. I am 2 months into my 2nd year (of 4years) of residency, which is great! 2nd year is probably our hardest year, so we're in for a rough one, but I figure it will go fast right? Just let me live in ignorance. It is really really tough working 60-75hrs per week, but we try to make the most of it. Every so often there are rotations where I only work 50 or so hours and life feels normal again. We have really settled into our house and made it a home with our new yard. Also, we got a new car! I've never had a new car, so I'm feeling very spoiled currently. Scott is doing great at Target - really not much new. Violet is a chatty cathy and loves to walk around the house singing. It is pretty stinking adorable. She can say probably like 50 words and can make animal noises when you ask her. She's working on her ABC's. Right now she really only gets to D and then it kind of turns into a mix of twinkle twinkle little star and ABCs. Still, freaking adorable. She is so smart and understands so much. It is such a fun age. Along with the fun comes the tantrums, which really aren't all that fun. She likes to throw herself on the ground and cry. Its rather hilarious actually. Most days, I can talk her down from her tantrums calmly, but sometimes, she stays on the ground and cries. Its a rough life she leads :). Scott and I are having a ton of fun with her. Over the last couple of months, we went to San Fran for a wedding, went home to Portland, we've hiked, been to jazz in the park several times, been on bike rides, had some visitors, etc. We try to live a pretty normal life despite the difficult work-life balance we have. And now for a serious photo explosion!!!
